What is the meaning of a Jagrat Deity

The concept of a Jagrat Deity is somewhat confusing because if a deity is awakened, it is considered a divinity. If it is not awakened, no one will even approach it. However, the term Jagrat Deity is not used to refer to a deity per se, but to a specific location. Some deities have multiple locations, but only a few are considered awakened. Thus, the term "Jagrat Deity" is not specific to the deity, but to the individual. If this were not so, all priests of deities considered awakened would become saints, because priests remain in the presence of the awakened deity 24 hours a day. Note here that the more awakened the deity is, the greater the altruistic inclination of the people living in that area. Devotees who come from outside and visit the deity once a year on a specific day and time create the religious atmosphere in that area.  But the deities considered awakened in that area have no influence on the attitudes of the people living there.

This proves that awakening is relative to the individual rather than the place. Only those who gain certain experiences through yoga share their experiences with others, encouraging them to approach that deity. In this way, a stone once painted with vermillion is suddenly being considered an awakened deity—there are hundreds of such examples. When the crowd of devotees increases in a temple, the presiding deity becomes intensely felt. When testing awakening, even if it is by mistake, it is often linked to the fulfillment of a wish or the occurrence of wrath.
In fact, because the concept of awakening is not concrete, its conclusions remain wrong. Vows are fulfilled when devotion, faith, and true resolve are strong. There are many more examples of vows not being fulfilled than the number of instances of the Lord, known as the awakened deity, fulfilling wishes. In a temple where divinity is radiant, one can quickly attain the fruits of purascharana, worship, adoration, sadhana, or service. But it cannot be said that it will prove useful in fulfilling a vow.
